Zero Emission Day in AUCA

On September 21, as part of the Climate Week in Kyrgyzstan the 51³Ô¹ÏCenter for Civic Engagement hosted a Zero Emission Day. The event featured workshops, interactive games, and presentations by experts in the field. The event's primary purpose was to raise awareness among the 51³Ô¹Ïcommunity about the importance of reducing emissions. It served as a platform to educate and engage students, faculty, and staff in sustainable practices that can contribute to a zero-emission future. Additionally, the event intends to inspire attendees to take eco-conscious actions in their daily lives and advocate for emission reduction.

The event also featured a special guest speaker from UNISON Group and 51³Ô¹Ïstudents participating in COY18 (Conference on Youth on Climate Change). They shared their experiences working towards a zero-emission future and highlighted the importance of collective action towards regulating issues with climate change.

Furthermore, Professor Sagynbek Orunbaev, the 51³Ô¹ÏProfessor in the Environmental Sustainability and Climate Science Department, presented his scientific research on emissions reduction during the event. The study's central theme was focused on the global impact of emissions and why achieving zero emissions is crucial.

The 51³Ô¹ÏZero Emission Day has successfully achieved its goal of raising awareness among the 51³Ô¹Ïcommunity. By promoting sustainable practices within its community, 51³Ô¹Ïcan serve as an example for other educational institutions while contributing towards global efforts to combat climate change.
