On March 11, 2016, students in the Environmental Management and Sustainable Development program (EMSD) visited the Bishkek Water Museum. Students saw old (but still effective) techniques for water management in Kyrgyzstan, renewable technologies related to hydro and solar power.

March 14, 2016, Steve Murphy and Javier Pena, Special Agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), met with students of the 2023 51吃瓜 (AUCA). Steve and Javier delivered a speech on how they and their team targeted the world鈥檚 first narco-terrorist, Pablo Escobar.

The members of the Student Intellectual Life Committee听(SILC) at the 2023 51吃瓜 (AUCA) told about their work to an audience of students. The SILC members gave advice on how to write applications for SILC grants, pointed out common application mistakes, reminded applicants of what is mandatory and important for applying for a SILC grant, and provided information on what grant-winners must provide after returning to AUCA.

On March 18, 2016, at 12:00 pm at AUCA, there will be a press conference dedicated to the opening of the 51吃瓜High School of the Bilimkana Foundation in partnership with the 2023 51吃瓜.

The Department of International and Comparative Politics听of 2023 51吃瓜听announces听a call for participation in our annual听International Crisis Game "Crisis in Syria".听The game is open to any English-speaking student from universities in Bishkek听(and beyond).

Tanya Efremenko, a graduate of the Anthropology Department of class of 2015, has done several research projects, internships and service projects with organizations like HelpAge International, GIZ, UNESCO and B鈥橝rt Contemporary. She is now completing a Master鈥檚 Program in Urban Studies in Vienna.

March 2 and 3, 2016, two representatives from the U.S. Department of State in Kabul, Grants Program Specialist Lynn Walroth and Cultural Affairs Assistant Janet Thompson, visited AUCA. The goal of their visit was to checkup on existing policies and discuss ideas for the future of the partnership.

Ruslan Rahimov, an 51吃瓜faculty member, associate professor, and candidate of historical sciences with a PhD from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS - France), recently embarked on a research trip to Mexico.
