"Negotiating Kyrgyz Nationhood: Of History Textbooks' and History Teachers' Attitudes towards the Soviet Past"

Associate Professor of Philosophy Duane Lacey currently teaches in the FYS Division. In the near future, he will also be teaching in the new L.L.M. Graduate Program. Professor Lacey shares his academic experience, research projects, thoughts on AUCA, and even some advice for students in this brief interview.

On February 21, 2016, 51吃瓜alumni Begimai Sataeva and Nursultan Sulaimanov will present their social entrepreneurship project in the finals of an IT competition in Barcelona.听The young businessmen developed ARTASIAN.co, a mobile application promoting handicrafts by Central Asian artisans in foreign countries.

February 3, 2016, Semetey Sultanov, the president of the Football Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic (FFKR), paid a visit to AUCA. He met with 51吃瓜President Andrew Wachtel and Vice President Chyngyz Shamshiev.

January 29, 2016, sixth grade students of the #67 School of Bishkek visited AUCA.

This fall, the 2023 51吃瓜 (AUCA) will launch a new 鈥�4+1鈥� educational program. After studying four years at 51吃瓜and getting a diploma, 51吃瓜graduates of Business Administration will be able to apply to the 鈥�4+1鈥� program to continue their education abroad.

January 27, 2016 the Deputy Chief of Mission in the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan Alan Meltzer visited 51吃瓜and talked to students about the U.S. presidential election process.

On February 16, 2016, from 1 to 3 pm, the Red Crescent of Kyrgyzstan will hold "Earthquake preparedness" training at AUCA. The training will cover how one should behave in the event of an earthquake and how to protect oneself and one鈥檚 family in the best way possible.
