Each Summer or Spring, all second-year students have the unique opportunity to travel abroad as a group to conduct ethnographic fieldwork under the guidance of a faculty supervisor. During the preceding Spring semester, students prepare by developing their research proposals and refining their methodological approaches within the course ‘Ethnographic Research Methods’. The fieldwork allows them to apply ethnographic methods in practice while experiencing life in a new cultural setting. All travel expenses are covered by the program.
