In Sharipa apa鈥檚 life, chiy and embroidery have always existed side by side,听 as part of the home, everyday work, and family memory. She worked with chiy, embroidered, and through these objects preserved what mattered to her family.

Sharipa apa created a separate embroidered piece for each of her children. One of these works is displayed here,听 the piece she made for her daughter, Umut. In her work, craft becomes memory as personal, familial, and carried forward across generations.
