Girls in rural areas of Kyrgyzstan are very vulnerable听and insecure. They are targeted for bride-kidnapping,听domestic violence, and early marriages. According to听UNDP鈥檚 report in 2016 on 鈥淰iolence against Women听and Girls鈥�, the cases of early marriage are noted in all听regions but were most widespread in Naryn and Chui听oblasts (about 13%), the least - in Bishkek (2.4%). As it听is analyzed in the report, more than 20% of marriages听in the Kyrgyz Republic happen through the abduction听of women and girls.听
Village Girl鈥檚 mission is to empower girls in rural areas听of Kyrgyzstan to enable them to reach their fullest听potential and inspire them to strive for their dreams.
